Kind words do not cost much. They never blister the tongue or lips. They make other people good-natured. They also produce their own image on men’s souls, and a beautiful image it is. — Blaise Pascal

'Call to me and I will answer you. I'll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.'Jeremiah 33:3 Msg

Resolving to not walk as the world walks, to be different so others  notice it and ask, 'what is it about you?'  Then to tell them of the hope that lives within me. The culture we live in is so easy to fall into, if we don't put up a guard to our heart and mind.  We are in this world but not of it, if we have Christ living in us.

There are so many things to entice and draw us away from the Christian life: advertizements/billboards, TV, magazines, radio, etc.  The word "resolve" keeps coming up in conversations, bible studies, and from our pastor. Webster's definition of resolve 1) to reach a firm decision about 2) fixity of purpose.  Guess the Holy Spirit is trying to get my attention, because every time I hear that word something inside me leaps.  I believe we must resolve to be fixed on the author and finisher of our faith.(Hebrews 12:2)  During these times on this earth He is doing a work in the hearts of His believers and wants us to walk in purity of heart before Him.

1 John 5: 4-5 MSG  says, "Every God-begotten person conquers the world's ways. The conquering power that brings the world to its knees is our faith. The person who wins out over the world's ways is simply the one who believes Jesus is the Son of God."  Makes it sound very simple.  It is a daily walk with me humbling myself, my wants, my desires to do what I want and asking Him what does He want me to do this day?  We may not do it at first, but the One that lives inside us will never give up "wooing" us to that calling to walk higher with Him.

In Ephesians 6:10-18 it speaks of our spiritual warfare and our weapons. Verse 12 says, "This is no afternoon athletic contest that we'll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the devil and all his angels." (MSG) We are to put on the different pieces of God's armor in order to do warfare against the enemy of our soul.  He gives his angels assignments to destroy God's children.  He hates God.  We are the body of Christ on this earth that he takes aim against.  God delegated His authority to us and the devil hates it. (God's power/man's authority.)

In years past some of  the choices I made were not good. AND I am talking about since becoming a Christian.  In some cases, we have had to reap a harvest, and in other cases God plucked the weeds up in His divine mercy.   All of them are engraved upon my heart so that I won't make those choices again.  I resolve to make Godly choices.  The kind that set me apart from the worldly culture we live in called America.

"Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met." Matthew 6:33 MSG

My prayer is that God shines His light on any darkness in my heart and He shows me how to walk in this world.

That's it, be blessed.
