Those that look to our Father God's face are never put to shame. If I seek His presence in every circumstance and His wisdom for every need I will never be covered with shame. That is an awesome promise.
There are times we will stumble and fall. There will be time we feel "shame" perhaps for something we did or even thought, but we will never, ever be covered in shame, if we do what the rest of Psalm 34 says to do. It seems to be self-explanatory to me. How about you?
Psalm 34-TNIV
1 I will extol the Lord at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips.
his praise will always be on my lips.
2 I will glory in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
3 Glorify the Lord with me;
let us exalt his name together.
let us exalt his name together.
4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.
he delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
their faces are never covered with shame.
6 This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles.
he saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them.
and he delivers them.
8 Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed are those who take refuge in him.
blessed are those who take refuge in him.
9 Fear the Lord, you his holy people,
for those who fear him lack nothing.
for those who fear him lack nothing.
10 The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
11 Come, my children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 Whoever of you loves life
and desires to see many good days,
and desires to see many good days,
13 keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from telling lies.
and your lips from telling lies.
14 Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.
seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their cry.
and his ears are attentive to their cry.
16 The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
to blot out their name from the earth.
to blot out their name from the earth.
17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
19 The righteous may have many troubles,
but the Lord delivers them from them all;
but the Lord delivers them from them all;
20 he protects all their bones,
not one of them will be broken.
not one of them will be broken.
21 Evil will slay the wicked;
the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
22 The Lord redeems his servants;
no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
Well, I think the writer of this Psalm says it extremely well! The Holy Spirit has been telling me lately to get into the Word and meditate upon it! This is where He lives and breathes. This is His thoughts and life to us! If we will live in HIM, we will NEVER be ashamed, because Jesus already bore that for us on the cross. It is finished.
And......
"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." I thank you Jesus for your grace and truth that has set me free!
Another favorite verse that I keep meditating on is Psalm 119:32 (TNIV) "I run in the paths of your commands, for you have set my heart free." I continue to come back to this verse! How wonderful it is to run (not sedately walk) freely in the Word of God!!! Woot! Woot! Joyously free to meditate and walk in love toward one another. Set free to do what He commands us to do in the Kingdom. Let's don't get too comfortable in our Church groups and Christian groups. Let's be fisher of men as we were commanded! WE are those nets He wants to use to bring in the unsaved into The Kingdom of God....Sooo make some adjustments and cast on the other side of the boat when He tells you to! ;)
John 21:6 NIV
"He said, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some." When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish."
