What’s in our heart will come out when we are under pressure. You get hit by a train, and what’s in you comes out. If we want love to come out, God’s kind of love, we must sit before Him letting Him pour His love into our hearts. Hearing His voice telling us how much He loves us give us the strength to go forth and love people in His Name. We represent Him. Then we serve God and people in His strength.
We walk in God’s kind of love by sitting quietly before Him; by letting Him saturate us with His love; and by purposing in our hearts to focus on Him. I have to let the Lord talk to me, and fill me up so I can overflow to others. It’s a decision I make on a daily basis. The only way the cycle can keep going or be fruitful is for me to abide in the vine. Then His love flows through me to others. The closer I get to Jesus, the more I become like Him. The more I become like Him, the more people are drawn to me and ask what is it about you that is different? Then we can tell them about the hope that is in us, Jesus, the hope of glory!
Is 30:15 Msg says, ” God, the Master, The Holy of Israel, has this solemn counsel: “Your salvation requires you to turn back to me and stop your silly efforts to save yourselves. Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on me-
John 17:3 Msg says, “And this is the real and eternal life: That they know you, The one and only true God, And Jesus Christ, whom you sent.
Psalm 119:114 MSG says, “You are my place of quiet retreat; I wait for Your Word to renew me.”
These verses are so very powerful. As we recognize that He is our salvation and we stop from our “silly self-efforts”. We get caught up in trying to do things our way, in our own strength. We then have to turn back to our Father God. Our salvation, our deliverance requires that we turn back to HIM. (Isaiah 30:15)
We must know Him. Having a deep, personal, and intimate relationship with our heavenly Father. That takes spending time with Him. Resting, studying, praying, and worshipping Him daily. (John 17:3) And then my favorite verse Psalm 119:114 Msg version…You are my quiet retreat, I wait for your Word to renew me. I go to Him to refresh me. I rest in Him. He fills me up with His love, peace, joy, patience. All the fruit of the spirit He grows it in my character as I wait in His presence. He fills me with His Love. Agape. The God kind of love that covers a multitude of sin.
Joyce Meyer says, “If you’re going to walk in love you’re going to have to do it on purpose.” There ya go. I purpose to get in the presence of Divine Love to start the cycle.
