Kind words do not cost much. They never blister the tongue or lips. They make other people good-natured. They also produce their own image on men’s souls, and a beautiful image it is. — Blaise Pascal

Reminders From God Strength For The Journey "Through many channels My help can flow. I am your supply."

"That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good." Romans 8:28 MSG

My car is in the shop due to an accident I had this past Saturday.  I overshot the exit ramp off the highway and went over the curb, down the embankment heading toward the culvert!  BUT God in His mercy kept me from going into it.  My car was scraped down the passenger side due to side swiping a sign.  The bumper was damaged, the front tire rim was partially torn off on the driver's side, and the back door wouldn't open properly because it was dented up.  The back tire rim was damaged but not as bad.  The car had  been in an accident previously.  On the other side was a dent on the bumper from being hit by an unknown assailant.  The tail light on the driver's side had been fractured previously.  All of these things are going to be included in this claim due to the extent of the damage and where it happened to be on the car.   How much of coincidence is that?  God works all things together!  He is so very merciful in every aspect of our lives.

He's done the same in my health issues.  In the 1990's I was diagnosed with Meniere's Disease.  It is a frustrating disease that has symptoms of fluid build up in the inner ears (both of mine are affected).  Other symptoms include; dizziness, vertigo, confusion, loss of hearing, loss of balance, and falling.  These were coming  at the most inconvenient times.  I have gone through two ear surgeries on my right ear. One of them stopped me from going completely deaf in my right ear, and the other one relieves the fluid build up to avoid the dizziness/vertigo it causes.   I haven't had any episodes now in over eighteen months of the horrible vertigo!  Praise the Lord!

As we were working through all of these symptoms of the Meniere's issues the ENT referred me to a Neurologist for the Migraines I was having on the right side of my head.  He ordered a MRI to rule out tumors.   They found a Meningioma on my left frontal lobe. The opposite side of the head.  A Meningioma is a tumor that's in the lining (Menges) of the brain.  The neurologist explained studies have shown that 80% are benign and a high percentage of them are found in women in the 50's age group.  He said to wait six months and we would get another MRI.    I came back in and got the MRI and it had grown.  He sent me to a neurosurgeon.  I had also started falling to the right and having difficulty remembering words.  I would start talking and just stop because I couldn't think of the word I was trying to say.  I had headaches on my left side that were there all the time.  They were different from the migraines on my right side.

February 2010 he removed the ping pong ball size tumor.  At the time he told me it all looked good and to come in and have a MRI done in six months.  I didn't hear from him again.  In August I  had the MRI and went to see him.   He told me then that it was a Type III tumor.  I have read the biopsy report it said: Type III with properties of cancer. He actually got two opinions because it was rather confusing.  My problem was the office never called to tell me!     God was in that too.  I wasn't thinking about it for six months.  I was walking around telling everyone it was a benign tumor.    I don't think "ignorance is bliss" though.  I believe we pray against sickness and believe that Jesus carried all of it on the cross for us.  That's what would have been done during those six months!

The doctor referred me to an oncologist.  She is great!  No radiation treatments.  MRI's every 3 months for a while.  She does want me to have my whole spinal column scanned this next time.  The menges covers the brain and spine.  Meningiomas are aggressive.  The doctors tell me that they return.  I choose to believe they aren't going to return in my body in the name of Jesus!

Hearing loss in my left ear was another area of battle this year. The ENT referred me to a Rheumatologist he has worked with to successfully improve their hearing.  He is the most thorough doctor I have ever gone to!  He calls me his Meningioma patient.  Funny man.  He is working with medicines to stop the hearing loss in the left ear.  It has stabilized.  I  believe God for improved hearing each month I go in.  He diagnosed me with Undifferentiated  Spondyloarthoapthy(USpA), also.  The battle is in the joints in hips, back, neck and feet.  I believe God for healing and restoration!

What has really helped me feel better is weight loss.  The Topomax did help me tremendously!  I no longer wanted the "junk food" I had been craving.  My taste buds had totally changed.  I wasn't hungry as much.  That side effect to a medication I can deal with!  I had lost to a certain weight and stayed there for months.  Didn't gain or lose.  Or if I did it was very slow.  That is when I heard about The Fat Flush Plan. (See the previous writing.)   I've lost a pound a day on this plan.  It is healthy and I am feeling really good!  Isn't God good?  He has used the medication Topomax to help me.  I could have eaten more, but made choices that were good for me.  I chose to drink lots of water.  I can't stand the taste of carbonated drinks.  God truly does work all things together for our good.  He will use many channels even the medication we have to take!  He is still my supply of help in all areas of my life!

I hope you have a great day!
